Tselios has owned the steakhouse since 2007, when it became part of his group of Marietta Family Restaurants (along with Good Day favorites Marietta Diner, Marietta Fish Market, and Casa Grande, among others). MARIETTA, Ga. - Longtime Marietta residents know that Cherokee Cattle Company was a staple of the city’s dining scene, serving up perfectly-cooked steaks since the early 1980s. So, when it closed down in March 2020 and then remained closed long after other restaurants had reopened, fans were worried. Television shows, books and magazines began developing story lines around the restaurant almost immediately. Saddle Ranch and its infamous mechanical bull have been featured on countless shows including “Sex and the City,” “Desperate Housewives,” “American Idol,” “Six Feet Under,” “VH1’s Rock of Love” and numerous more.
A Dining Experience
Paul Milliken got the chance to take a tour - and check out the food - at the new Cherokee Chophouse. And while Tselios also updated the menu a bit — adding some Marietta Family favorites — he says he also knew he needed to leave customer favorites intact. So, you’ll find plenty of cuts of beef, along with house specialties like braised beef short rib, baby back ribs, and the Cherokee Cheese Burger.

Welcome to The Chop House, an award-winning steakhouse restaurant with ten locations serving lunch and dinner daily. We strive for 100% guest satisfaction, with high quality food and friendly service. Both Saddle Ranch locations have a large outdoor patio with stone campfire pits where guests can roast their own s’mores or enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. Inside each Saddle Ranch is a large, oval-shaped bar in the center of the dining room and, of course, our signature mechanical bull providing endless entertainment to diners. Serving up home-style cooking and down-home hospitality, our staff will make your group feel like you are dining at a close friend’s table. This morning, we spent some time with our good friend Gus Tselios, who reopened the iconic restaurant as Cherokee Chophouse last month.
Top Reviews of Cherokee Chophouse
Our concept is “Rock Meets Western”, which comes to life in every aspect of the construction, décor and operation of these unique restaurants. The rustic, ranch-style buildings are constructed of wood and stone, and decorated with western props and memorabilia, merging the feel of an Aspen ski lodge with the style of an old Western saloon, complete with faux balconies and saloon girls. Saddle Ranch Chop House is a destination restaurant where guests stay long after their plates have been cleared to enjoy a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience with friends and family. The Cherokee Cattle Company, an icon of the Marietta dining scene since the early 1980s, is back with a new name and a new look.
